Green Verse

My definition of Green Verse is any poem that was inspired by our natural world, that honors or celebrates it, or that laments its loss.

I often speak of what I call poetry’s unlimited potential for healing and wholeness. If you have never written poetry I suggest you give it a try. I believe that by finding our inner poet we learn to see deeply into our surroundings and into ourselves. Poetry helps us to shape our thoughts. And in the process of writing we may have new insights and new appreciation for the world around us.

I consider writing poetry a spiritual practice as it enhances our mindfulness. And finding the spirit within we find our connection to all that is in this magnificent world. Either rhyming or free verse, read some poems, pick up a pen and give it a try.
